Following in the footsteps of her great-uncle Prof. Sepp Dengg and her father Prof. Harald Dengg, Mag. Burgi Vötterl took over as conductor of the Salzburg Folk Song Choir in 2001. She prepared the choir for the Salzburg Advent Singing until 2024, when Herbert Böck will take over as conductor.

She continues to play the violin in the Salzburg Geigenmusik ensemble and in the Advent Singing orchestra. Burgi Vötterl teaches violin, string orchestra, and choral singing at the Musikum and the Musisches Gymnasium Salzburg.
