A highlight in the run up to Christmas

At the performance on December 6, 2019, Hans Köhl welcomed the two millionth guest to the Salzburg Advent Singing since its inception. What started small in 1946 has been a highlight for thousands of people in the run-up to Christmas for decades. This was also the case for Nicola Layenberger, who was invited on stage as a special guest at the end of the performance.

Nicola Layenberger has been attending the Salzburg Advent Singing for many years. This time she was visiting with her father Heinz Sieber, who experienced a performance of the Salzburg Advent Singing for the first time no less than 36 years ago. Layenberger was beaming as she accepted the flowers. “We have been coming to the Salzburg Advent Singing for so many years and spending the day in the pre-Christmas and incomparable atmosphere of Salzburg. Thank you for the effort and dedication of everyone involved in the Advent Singing, which gives us a wonderful atmosphere for Christmas. There is simply no alternative to the Salzburg Advent Singing!”, says the real estate agent from Rosenheim.

Hans Köhl: “According to our complete records, we were able to verify that the 2,000,000th ticket was ordered on January 9, 2019 with the 6,211th ticket order for the Salzburg Advent Singing. The fact that this incredible number was achieved with Ms. Layenberger as a Rosenheim native is also a nice sign of the intensive Bavarian-Salzburg friendship.”
